About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a College Work Study Student for the Veteran's Affairs department for the Fall 2026 semester. This position supports the CSN Veterans Education Resource and Transition Services Center, which aims to encourage and empower students to achieve academic excellence, personal well-being, and a strong sense of community. The student will assist both students and staff with various administrative and support tasks.

Requirements

• Must have completed this year's FAFSA
• Must have accepted the Student Employment Award in their Financial Aid Package
• Resume/CV
• Proof of Student Employment Award (copy of latest CSN Award Notification showing the Student Employment Award, or a screenshot of accepted award from MyCSN)
• Must show a financial aid eligible major (degree or certificate program) declared with the CSN Office of the Registrar
• Must meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Progress after each semester/term to qualify for employment within the academic year
• Must show degree compliant enrollment for each semester/term for which funding is desired
• For summer semester/term employment, must be enrolled in at least 6 credits and meet additional eligibility requirements of the Silver State Regents Service Program
• Cannot work another part-time position within NSHE at the same time they are employed as a CSN College Work Study student
• Must be a U.S. citizen or an alien authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Answering and transferring calls using a multi-line phone system
• Retrieving and responding to voicemails
• Assisting walk-in students
• Assisting with appointment scheduling
• Participating and assisting in campus events
• Additional duties as assigned
