The College Transition Advisor plays a crucial role in the KIPP Forward program, aiming to bridge the information gap for KIPP Texas students and families regarding college admissions and financial aid. This position is dedicated to helping students successfully transition from high school to college or their chosen postsecondary pathway. The advisor will work closely with high school seniors and the college and career counseling team throughout the academic year, ensuring all critical tasks for postsecondary enrollment are completed, including the first semester after high school. Key responsibilities involve significant student outreach for advising sessions, progress monitoring, and promoting enrichment opportunities. Post-enrollment, the advisor will provide summer support and targeted outreach during the first semester of college. This role is also responsible for data collection, maintaining a student caseload, and preventing summer melt.
