About The Position

Vanguard’s College to Corporate Internship Program for Investment Management offers an immersive experience in buy-side investing within an innovative investment management organization. Interns will collaborate with premier investment professionals, influencing the financial future of over fifty million clients. The program provides hands-on involvement with the global investment ecosystem, equipping interns with the tools and resources to understand how these elements shape client and company financial futures. Interns will pursue assignments within Vanguard's investment teams, including fixed income, global equity, strategic & quantitative equity, investment strategy, portfolio review, and risk management. The program emphasizes a comprehensive approach to investing across various asset classes, fostering expertise and a broad understanding of Vanguard’s mission-driven investment philosophy. Smaller cadre sizes facilitate learning, individualized feedback, and community connections. Interns will collaborate on projects, distill complex data for insights, and present findings to leadership, influencing decisions that directly impact investors. Regular meetings with managers, program managers, buddies, and business leaders provide personalized coaching and mentorship. The program aims to prepare interns for a career in investment management, with opportunities to apply for full-time positions, including Vanguard rotational programs, upon successful completion.

Requirements

  • Results oriented with the ability to lead several priorities.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older at the start of the internship.
  • This program is a 10-week, full-time, paid summer internship.
  • At this time Vanguard is only considering candidates that will not now, or in the future, need sponsorship or other immigration support to obtain US work authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred.
  • Open to all fields of study. Prior participants have studied Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, and Computer Science, among many others.
  • Strong technical acumen is a plus, including data analytical, statistical, storytelling, and coding skills – but we offer many on the job learning opportunities as well.
  • A commitment to strengthening communities through your time and talent.

Responsibilities

  • Pursue an assignment within Vanguard's investment teams including fixed income, global equity, strategic & quantitative equity, investment strategy, portfolio review, and risk management.
  • Work in a department that draws upon your experiences and interests as well as meets strategic business needs.
  • Experience a comprehensive approach to investing that employs a range of strategies across asset classes, growing your expertise while developing a broad understanding of Vanguard’s mission driven investment philosophy.
  • Collaborate with others and lead a project distilling complex data to uncover insights that you will present to leadership – influencing decisions that directly affect investors.
  • Meet regularly with your department manager, internship program manager, assigned buddy, and key business leaders.
  • Receive personalized coaching and mentorship.
