College Professor
About The Position
The University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus invites applications for a fixed term full-time College Professor role teaching in the Agriculture Associate Diploma Program. This nine-month appointment will begin in August 2026 and will end in May 2027. The position is based at the Ridgetown Campus, in the municipality of Chatham-Kent, 200km southwest of the University’s main campus in Guelph. Reporting to the Associate Director of Academic Quality and Student Success, the College Professor will be responsible for teaching courses to students in the Agriculture Associate Diploma Program. The incumbent will be responsible for the development, preparation and delivery of appropriate course materials, evaluation of student progress, and individual academic consultations with students. In addition, the College Professor may be involved in student recruitment/promotion, curricular and program development, and other pedagogical activities. The assigned courses may include Dairy Cattle Production Management, Dairy Herd Management, Advanced Topics in Dairy Production. Other courses may be assigned based on expertise. Applicants invited for an interview will be required to prepare and deliver a presentation.
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in a related field (dairy cattle production and management).
- Three years of relevant working experience.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to develop presentations for diploma students.
- The ability to incorporate relevant, practical, and applied experiences into teaching methods.
- Familiarity with dairy software programs (Dairy Comp).
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office and internet applications.
- Demonstrated record of diplomacy, teamwork, and time management.
Nice To Haves
- A graduate degree (MSc or PhD) in a related field.
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level with a commitment to student success.
- Experience in the agricultural industry.
- A related professional designation or industry recognized certification.
