About The Position

As a College Intern with the Data Modernization & Innovation Office (DMIO), you will assist with projects that improve how the Department collects, manages, analyzes, and shares transportation data to support informed decision-making across Alaska. You may gain experience in areas such as data analysis, geospatial (GIS) technology, research, project coordination, business process improvement, technology implementation, and administrative support while collaborating with professionals from a variety of disciplines. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to innovative transportation initiatives while building skills for future career opportunities with the State of Alaska.

Requirements

Currently accepted, enrolled, and attending an accredited college in an undergraduate degree program while maintaining an academic load of at least six credit hours per semester (eight credit hours per quarter).
In good standing with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher (for Intern 2, 3, and 4).
Successfully completed training as a College Intern 1 or 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in the degree program (for Intern 2).
Successfully completed training as a College Intern 2 or 56 semester (84 quarter) hours of coursework in the degree program (for Intern 3).
Currently enrolled in and attending upper division classes in a declared major related to the body of work to be performed (for Intern 3).
Successfully completed training as a College Intern 3 or 88 semester (132 quarter) hours of coursework in the degree program of which at least 12 semester (16 quarter) hours were upper division coursework in a declared major directly related to the assigned duties and responsibilities (for Intern 4).
