About The Position

Marriott Vacations Worldwide offers a comprehensive internship program at one of our stunning resort locations, available in 3- or 6-month durations. This program is built around gaining in-person, on-site work experience within a designated department, receiving personalized guidance from experienced property leaders, participating in exclusive sessions with senior company executives, shadowing different departments, collaborating on meaningful projects, and connecting with fellow interns. The Facilities/Engineering internship focuses on learning the essentials of Villa Care Preventative Maintenance, understanding the roles of the Resort Facilities Manager, performing minor building repairs, responding to guest repair requests, managing work orders, and participating in regular training for safety, technical knowledge, and energy conservation.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • This is a fully on-site internship at one of the designated Marriott Vacations Worldwide resort locations.
  • Candidates must be actively pursuing a college degree at any level.
  • Interns must be able to reach overhead and below knee level, and perform physical activities such as bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Interns must also be capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
  • The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • It is preferred that the candidate is actively pursuing a degree related to the field.
  • A valid driver’s license may be required, depending on scope of role.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the essentials of Villa Care Preventative Maintenance (i.e. basic painting, basic repairs such as replacing lightbulbs, temperature readings on appliances/HVAC, etc.)
  • Learn about the roles and responsibilities of the Resort Facilities Manager and the operational structure.
  • Perform minor building repairs as assigned.
  • Responds and attends to guest repair requests.
  • Manages work orders.
  • Participate in regular training for safety, technical knowledge, inspection process, energy conservation, and common facility terminology/acronyms.
