About The Position

Help young adults stay in school—and change the trajectory of their lives. Not every student has someone who understands what it takes to navigate college without a safety net. At Just in Time for Foster Youth, we’re hiring a College Bound Coordinator to provide individualized, consistent support to young adults with foster care experience as they pursue higher education. This role is ideal for someone who has either lived this experience or has dedicated their career to supporting underserved students—and wants to make a measurable, lasting impact. We strongly encourage applicants from underrepresented backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ communities, and individuals with lived foster care or system-impacted experience to apply.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 2+ years of experience working with students, young adults, or underserved populations
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized

Nice To Haves

• Lived experience in foster care or similar systems
• First-generation college graduate
• Experience in mentoring, advising, or education support roles
• Experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ youth

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to participants navigating 2-year, 4-year, and graduate programs
• Help students set academic goals, overcome barriers, and stay on track
• Build trust-based relationships through consistent communication (in-person, virtual, phone, text)
• Plan and facilitate workshops and engagement events
• Partner with colleges, universities, and community organizations
• Support participant recruitment, retention, and engagement
• Track participant progress and maintain accurate documentation
