Art Division’s College and Career Coach is responsible for working under the supervision of the Artistic Director/Managing Director in supporting our students. This position requires an understanding of college access pathways, transfer requirements from California Community Colleges to various 4-year institutions, and knowledge of Federal and CA grants and the financial aid process. Career advising includes forging academic and professional pipelines to higher education opportunities, jobs, training and internships for students. It also requires sensitivity to the needs of under-served, low-income and undocumented students. Additionally, it requires an ability to connect with artistic students, build trust, and maintain communication. The position also includes building and supporting student activities such as social gatherings and field trip organization. Administrative duties include student, alumni, and scholarship tracking, administration of evaluations, and data entry.
