About The Position

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Law Division, is seeking a currently enrolled college student to assist with administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment. This is not a hybrid position. The selected candidate must be available to work in person at least two days per week. Flexible hours are available. As a College Aide, you can work up to 17 hours per week during the school semester and then full-time (35 hours per week) during the winter/summer breaks. Please note you must be a student enrolled in an accredited college or graduate school to be eligible.

Requirements

  • Must be a student enrolled in an accredited college or graduate school.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys and support staff.
  • Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.).
  • Educational credentials must be from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accredited institution.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining/creating Microsoft Word and Excel internal documents
  • Various research assignments
  • Coordinating reproduction service requests
  • Archiving agency records
  • Assisting with Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests
  • Basic to intermediate office/administrative assignments such as shredding confidential documents, scanning, redacting, and photocopying.
