This is an unpaid fellowship through the Department of War (DoW) SkillBridge Program. The fellow selected for this role will not receive compensation or benefits from GDIT and will not be an employee, agent or contractor of GDIT but rather will remain an employee of the DoW and will receive compensation and benefits through the DoW. The fellowship offers transitioning service members the opportunity to gain hands‑on training and professional experience as a Training Specialist Senior Fellow, supporting Army Mission Command training delivery, Fires Warfighting Function (WfF) integration, command post operations, and collective training execution across Battalion to Corps echelons. The participant will gain exposure to mission command systems, collective training event design, the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP), operational planning, After Action Review (AAR) development, and instructor‑led training inside a high‑fidelity Mission Command Training Center environment. The Fellow will train alongside experienced Observer/Controller-Trainers, Fires enterprise instructors, and Mission Command professionals to build foundational expertise in Fires planning, targeting, Command and Control (C2) integration, and collective training methodologies for critical staff roles. The Training Specialist Senior Fellow will learn how advanced mission command training is developed, delivered, assessed, and modernized—while contributing to scenario design, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development, exercise execution, doctrinal updates, AAR production, and staff mentorship within MCTC’s high‑demand training mission.
