We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Legal Collector with a minimum of 1 year of collections experience to join our growing remote team across Canada. The ideal candidate is a strong negotiator who is revenue-focused, detail-oriented, and motivated by performance and results. This individual will be confident handling difficult conversations, skilled in modern skip tracing techniques, and experienced in locating employment, assets, and property information to support recovery efforts. As a Collections Officer, you will play a crucial role in communicating with clients for outstanding amounts. Your responsibilities include (but not limited to): * Manage delinquent and legal accounts in accordance with Canadian collections laws and company policies * Negotiate payment arrangements, settlements, and recovery solutions with consumers * Conduct advanced skip tracing using modern investigative tools and databases * Attempt to locate updated consumer contact information, employment details, assets, and property ownership information * Maintain a strong focus on revenue generation, account resolution, and recovery performance * Review account documentation and maintain accurate and detailed collection records and notes * Work collaboratively with internal legal and collections teams * Ensure all collection activity remains compliant with applicable provincial and federal regulations * Meet or exceed individual recovery and performance targets

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of collections experience, preferably in legal, recovery, or judgment collections
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Revenue-focused mindset with a proven ability to deliver results
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Experience with modern skip tracing methods and investigative research tools
  • Ability to identify and verify employment, assets, and property information
  • Solid understanding of Canadian collections regulations and compliance standards
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment
  • Proficiency with collection software and Microsoft Office applications
