Collaborative Registered Nurse - Oncology - Days
About The Position
This position involves providing safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for oncology patients. The Registered Nurse will utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, prepare patients for procedures, and monitor their condition. The role also includes guiding unlicensed assistive personnel, collaborating with the healthcare team and physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes and clinic operations, and coordinating communication with patients regarding symptom management. A key aspect of the role is contributing positively to safety outcomes and promoting a high-quality patient experience.
Requirements
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure, required.
- Associate's in Nursing, required.
- Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association, required.
- Minimum 1 year Oncology experience required
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's in Nursing, strongly preferred
- BMTCN/OCN certifications preferred
Responsibilities
- Independently provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for patients
- Utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care
- Prepare patients for procedures and monitor their condition periodically
- Guide and direct assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care
- Communicate and collaborate with healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care
- Collaborate with assigned physician to facilitate effective clinic operations
- Coordinate communications with patient and provider including symptom management
- Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
