About The Position

Virginia Correctional Enterprises (VCE) is a manufacturing and service agency focused on providing meaningful jobs and work skills for offenders and offering quality goods and services to customers. The Codes Supervisor will provide leadership to the Codes Department to ensure accurate selling prices for VCE products. This involves ensuring pricing is built from accurate bills of materials (BOM) based on input from manufacturing plants, setting up item numbers, auditing BOMs, reviewing change notices, writing and reviewing cost-sell documentation, and establishing sale prices according to VCE operating procedures. The role also involves providing leadership for a workforce aimed at achieving strategic objectives for profitability, quality products, customer loyalty, and accurate, on-time order fulfillment. The supervisor will audit and verify the accuracy and quality of documents. A 12-month probationary period will apply for all new hires, transfers, and returning state employees.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in computer keyboarding and MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Proficiency in planning, organizing, record-keeping, purchasing, problem-solving, and training.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, maintain attention to detail, prioritize, and make decisions.
  • Ability to work independently, resolve problems, and perform effectively in complex work situations that involve multi-tasking and procedural requirements.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, listen effectively and handle difficult situations.
  • Considerable knowledge of manufacturing, routings and bill of materials that relate to the coding function.

Nice To Haves

  • Technically proficient in Chisel or other ERP/MRP related software.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a Supervisory role.
