About The Position
As a Coder, you will translate patients’ medical records into standardized codes for diagnoses and treatments, ensuring services are documented correctly and insurance payments are processed efficiently. The role requires applying coding standards and healthcare regulations while maintaining compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements. You will collect hospital charges from physicians, communicate with physicians about their charges, review documentation and coding and billing rules, enter charges and check for errors, and help answer patient calls about payments and billing questions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduation from an approved coding school or one year of coding experience in a healthcare setting.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of coding standards and healthcare regulations.
- Clear communication with providers and staff.
