About The Position

SAFEbuilt is seeking a talented and experienced Code Enforcement Officer to join its team of community development professionals. The role offers a variety of assignments and is suited to a motivated self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively. The officer performs field inspections, reviews plans and specifications when required, reports violations, and maintains related records. The position requires interpreting codes in the field and providing code-compliant solutions, along with effective interaction with staff, the public, contractors, government entities, and other clients.

Requirements

• TDLR Code Enforcement Officer II licensure.
• At least 1 year of experience in security, enforcement, or compliance-related work, including investigating allegations, conducting research, and resolving complaints, concerns, or conflicts.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Ability to interpret codes in the field and provide code-compliant solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with all levels of management.
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently in a rapidly changing environment, and function as a group leader.
• Ability to interact positively with staff, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele.
• Good time management, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Demonstrated initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment.

Nice To Haves

• ICC International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) Certification.
• Experience in building, construction, or trades.

Responsibilities
