Employees in this class work under close supervision and with other County departments to ensure compliance and enforce planning, zoning, building, licensing, illegal signage, property maintenance, noise, land use standards, other codes ordinances, rules and regulations designed to protect the health, safety and welfare and the general quality of life for residents of Rockdale County, Georgia. The employee serves as a resource and provides information on County regulations to property owners, residents, businesses, and the general public, along with other County departments and divisions. Work includes conducting field inspections and issuing citations as needed. Work is assigned by administrative staff in terms of department goals and objectives. Employee may, with adequate training, satisfactory performance evaluations, competency in executing the routine job duties, and master the skills necessary to advance to the next higher-level class, Code Enforcement Officer II.
