About The Position

The Code Compliance Building Inspector performs third-party building inspections across electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and fire safety disciplines. The role also manages code compliance projects, including plan review, technical support, inspections, monitoring project performance and budgets, proposal preparation, site meetings, and resolving technical and administrative issues. The inspector may mentor and train other building inspectors and assist with profit-and-loss management, client relationships, marketing, and business development.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.

Nice To Haves

• Five or more years of experience in code compliance inspection of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems and/or plan review.
• At least one valid ICC certification: B2, M2, P2, E2, Fire Inspector I, or Fire Inspector II; alternatively, the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform third-party electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and fire safety building inspections.
• Prepare and submit daily time records and Inspection/Field Reports in accordance with ECS policy.
• Apply knowledge of state and local building code regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Manage code compliance projects, including reviewing plans, providing technical support, conducting inspections, monitoring performance and budget conditions, preparing proposals, attending project site meetings, and assisting with technical and administrative problem resolution.
• Mentor and train other building inspectors when expected.
• Assist with management of profit and loss.
• Maintain and develop client interactions and participate in marketing and business development activities related to code inspections.
