About The Position

This critical leadership role will be focused on driving partner-based credit card growth across our enterprise. This executive will manage a number of U.S. Bank’s cobrand partner relationships, focusing on growing the business, delivering exceptional customer experience, and enabling mutually valuable relationships with our co-brand partners. This leader will work directly with cobrand partners to develop and execute strategic plans, create world-class customer service experiences, ensure seamless partner integrations, lead executive-level discussions, and coordinate all internal and external activities associated with managing the portfolio. The leader will effectively lead internal cross functional teams to drive these initiatives. This executive will continually monitor the effectiveness of our products, service delivery, and customer experiences—driving internal and external changes to ensure world-class positioning in the card industry. This leader will be responsible for continued growth and profitability across payments for consumer and small business.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of banking / credit card operations
  • Experience overseeing large, successful card partnerships
  • Ability to quickly integrate complex information and translate it into business strategy
  • Deep knowledge of the payments industry, including current and future trends in digital payments and financial services innovation
  • Understanding of all payment instruments, their key attributes, and restrictions
  • Exceptional influencing skills; adept at driving organizational change through partnership, collaboration, and leadership rather than title or line authority

  • 15+ years of Payments and Banking experience
  • Ideally gained in increasingly larger roles with direct experience with both consumers and partners
  • A strong track record of positive outcomes in B-to-B-to-C relationships is a must
  • Strong academics
  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable academic training is required.

  • Identify ways to transform and scale the business, focusing on growth, innovation, and continued differentiation, both in terms of products and services, as well as the overall customer experience.
  • Develop and execute a strategy that will position the business to meet its growth and operational objectives.
  • Review performance and progress on a regular basis to ensure the business is meeting/exceeding its growth, profitability, and operational objectives, including revenue, expense ratios, return on investment, and customer penetration.
  • Set continually higher goals that are ambitious but realistic and aligned with U.S. Bank's overall strategy and risk parameters.
  • Partner with U.S. Bank's leadership to create a compelling vision and strategy for the Co-Brand business, positioning the organization to achieve heightened scale and market share.
  • Proactively monitor all technological advancements/disruptive business models to ensure US Bank's business remains relevant and innovative, especially as it relates to providing a best-in-class customer experience.
  • Engage U.S. Bank colleagues, including enterprise leadership, in a dialogue to gain commitment and support for the business, its strategic priorities, and the necessary investments required to achieve both financial and operational objectives.
  • Use well thought out influencing strategies, adapted to U.S. Bank's organization, people, and each specific situation.
  • Take initiative to systematically build and maintain relationships and support at multiple levels, across businesses, functions, and regions.
