About The Position

Stefanini Group is hiring a COBOL Developer for a hybrid position in Athens, AL or Reading, PA. This role involves making custom COBOL code changes (CICS and Batch on an IBM z/OS mainframe) for manufacturing to support a client's expansion project. The developer will modify functions in an agile fashion over approximately 9 to 16 months.

Requirements

• Proficiency in COBOL II, JCL, CICS, and other mainframe programming languages.
• Experience with VSAM files.
• Experience with SDF II (COBOL Maps).
• Experience with CEDF (CICS Debug Utility).
• Experience with system-level debugging, performance tuning, and system security.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with Easytrieve.
• Experience with the IBM Debugging Utility.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with File Manager (similar to FileAid).

Responsibilities

• Modify custom COBOL code (CICS and Batch on an IBM z/OS mainframe) for manufacturing.
• Support the addition of one VIM furnace and 13 other machines as part of a client's expansion project.
• Address requirements as they are developed in an agile fashion.
• Perform system-level debugging, performance tuning, and system security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues.
