About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Egg Truck Driver with various tasks including loading and unloading eggs, moving egg buggies, and washing and disinfecting trucks. Key duties involve picking up hatching eggs from local farms and delivering them to a local hatchery, maintaining egg inventory records, and performing cleaning and disinfection procedures at collection sites. The role also requires participation in driver safety meetings and may involve driving a small fleet vehicle for chick or egg deliveries. The job is performed in a biosecure environment, necessitating adherence to specific protocols.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months
  • If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months
  • Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods
  • Must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.)
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must use safe lifting techniques
  • Must regularly push wheeled buggies weighing up to 1000 pounds when loaded approximately 40-50 times, per shift
  • Must be able to communicate written and orally with customers
  • Will be trained to recognize and comply with all safety policies

Responsibilities

  • Assist Egg Truck Driver in picking up hatching eggs from local farms to delivery to local hatchery
  • Read, write and perform simple math to maintain egg inventory records and record egg deliveries
  • Shower into uniforms at each collection site, if needed, and clean and disinfect
  • Attend and actively participate in driver safety meetings
  • Drive a small fleet vehicle to deliver chicks or eggs
