Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends. This position is responsible for assisting Egg Truck Driver with loading and unloading eggs, moving egg buggies and washing and disinfecting trucks. The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines. Requirements

  • Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months.
  • If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months.
  • Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
  • Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.
  • Must be able to read, write and perform simple math to maintain egg inventory records and record egg deliveries.
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • Must regularly push wheeled buggies weighing up to 1000 pounds when loaded approximately 40-50 times, per shift.
  • Regularly required to sit the majority of shift while riding in the truck, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to communicate written and orally with customers.
  • Will be trained to recognize and comply with all safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Egg Truck Driver with loading and unloading eggs, moving egg buggies and washing and disinfecting trucks.
  • Assist Egg Truck Driver in picking up hatching eggs from local farms to delivery to local hatchery (70%)
  • Read, write and perform simple math to maintain egg inventory records and record egg deliveries. (10%)
  • Shower into uniforms at each collection site, if needed. Clean and disinfect. (10%)
  • Attend and actively participate in driver safety meetings, drive a small fleet vehicle to deliver chicks or eggs. (10%)
