About The Position

HII's Mission Technologies Division is seeking an entry-level Coatings and Preservation Assistant to support Platform Modernization (PM) operations. This role will primarily be based at the Woodlake Fabrication Shop in Chesapeake, VA, with potential for periodic local travel to shipyards and military bases. The assistant will support PM Trade Teams in fleet modernization efforts. Limited out-of-town travel (up to 25%) may be required, and occasional weekend or evening work might be necessary to meet deadlines. This position is contingent upon the award of a contract.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver's license and must provide own hand tools.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must be able to obtain medical clearance to wear a half-face respirator.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Prior Shipboard experience.
Previous work related to technical trades.
Candidates who hold a current or active DoD confidential clearance or higher.
Candidate with related technical training, degrees, and/or certifications.

Apply job skills and company policies to complete a wide range of tasks that vary based on job, contract, customer requirements, specifications, etc.
