Requirements

  • High school degree or GED required
  • Three (3) to twelve (12) months coating experience is required to achieve acceptable quality and quantity performance
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong communication skills
  • Computer skills
  • Able to apply analytical skills to troubleshoot non-conforming product or processes
  • Able to recognize hazardous situations and knows how to address said situations safely/properly
  • Able to exercise considerable judgement in prioritizing workload.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for loading and unloading stock stands and setting up splicers, slitters, marking systems and lasers
  • Must be able to operate coater stations during the absence of the Coater Operator
  • Responsible for providing the production area with the proper raw materials listed on the work order as well as relocating and reporting the movement of said raw materials using the current reporting system (SAP)
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and ensures that it operated in a safe, productive manner
  • Responsible for performing preventative maintenance of equipment
  • Must be able to set up and operate equipment and machinery where ordinary adjustments are required, as well as clean, disassemble, and remove it at the end of a job
  • Must be able to perform manual tasks where accuracy is important
  • Set up and adjust delicate instruments as well as enter data into the designated database
  • Must be able to operate fork truck equipment, powered and manual material handling equipment, and overhead hoists
  • Responsible for insuring equipment is maintained in a serviceable condition by conducting daily documented inspections
  • Perform flow rate calculations based on percent solids to determine correct coating parameters
  • Exhibit departmental and plant leadership for meeting safety, customer service, and productivity goals, and the certification of peers.
  • Required to meet Plant/Company guidelines for attendance
  • Properly label, package, and maintain all hazardous material in accordance with EPA requirements
  • Perform all required in process and release testing per SOP or special instruction, translate test results and corrections into a proper, understandable format, and record data electronically
  • Coordinate input material delivery
  • Participates in Safety/Housekeeping Audits
  • Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs
