About The Position

HDR is seeking a Coastal Engineering Project Manager to join their nationally ranked team of coastal professionals across the United States. This role involves leading the planning, analysis, design, and delivery of coastal engineering and channel development projects, including sea level rise infrastructure assessments, coastal restoration, shoreline protection, and navigation improvements. The position also requires a key role in client engagement and business development to expand HDR’s coastal presence nationwide. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 7 years related experience inclusive of a minimum 2 years experience in project management
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience is required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Coastal, Ocean, or Civil engineering preferred
  • PMP certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate single- and multidisciplinary teams throughout the full project lifecycle (initiation through close-out)
  • Manage complex small- to medium-sized projects, or serve as a key leader on larger efforts
  • Oversee multiple projects concurrently, ensuring successful delivery on schedule, budget, and quality
  • Perform and oversee analysis and design for: Coastal restoration projects, Beach nourishment projects, Shoreline protection systems (revetments, living shorelines), Sea level rise and resilience assessments, Navigation and dredging projects (marinas, harbors, channels)
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, participating in marketing and business development efforts
  • Lead or support: Proposal development, Scope definition, Fee and cost estimates
  • Facilitate design workshops and coordination meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Plan and manage staffing and workload across the project lifecycle
  • Track and manage project financials, adjusting resources to meet budget and schedule targets
  • Partner with accounting, operations, and business leadership on project performance reviews
  • Ensure adherence to and implementation of QA/QC procedures
