About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Coastal Engineering Intern to join our Melbourne, FL office. This role involves supporting day-to-day project organization for multiple concurrent coastal engineering projects, including tracking action items, maintaining files, and updating project materials. The intern will also provide construction oversight support through site visits and shadowing engineers on beach nourishment, dredging, and shoreline restoration projects, focusing on observation and learning. Responsibilities include performing basic technical and administrative tasks using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other project tools, with limited exposure to CAD and internal dashboards. The intern will learn foundational concepts in coastal engineering practice by working closely with engineers and project managers, contributing draft-level support, and gaining exposure to real-world project workflows. Additionally, the intern will assist with project documentation, such as drafting meeting agendas, recording minutes, and preparing draft technical memos and correspondence for internal review.

Requirements

  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a coastal or ocean engineering degree or similar from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

Responsibilities
