This position involves assisting with all aspects of the Girls and Boys Wrestling Program, including tryouts, practices, and games. The coach will develop and execute an effective training program, motivate and mentor student-athletes, and instruct them in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training. The role also emphasizes fostering moral values, pride, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, self-confidence, teamwork, respect, sportsmanship, and skills development. The coach is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of student-athletes, cooperating with the School Athletic Director and District Athletic Department, and meeting all requirements mandated by the District Board of Education, OHSAA, and ODE. This includes CTC Training/Certification and the ODE Pupil Activity Permit (PAP). The coach must also check the academic eligibility of student-athletes, follow District Athletic Department Policies, and model appropriate behavior.
