Coach, DU Bar Success Program
About The Position
The University of Denver Sturm College of Law features a DU Bar Success program for graduates of Denver Law to aid in bar preparation studies with numerous practice problems utilizing bar exam materials. The program features workshops, mock bar exams, individualized feedback, and coaching. We provide one-on-one coaching to help graduates keep on track and make the most of the learning experience. The Sturm College of Law seeks to hire part-time (hourly, non-benefited) Coaches to advance the DU Bar Success Program through coaching, working with bar takers, law students, and recent graduates as they prepare for bar exams. This is an hourly, non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
Requirements
- A JD or equivalent legal degree
- Outstanding written and oral communications skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and providing comments on word documents
- Licensed to practice law in any jurisdiction
Nice To Haves
- Experience in higher education, teaching, instructional design, cognitive science, counseling, and affiliated fields.
- Licensed to practice law in Colorado
Responsibilities
- Work closely with and support the Program Director and Assistant Director.
- Meet routinely with students and graduates to coach through bar exam preparation.
- Track individual meetings, document bar studier learning progress, and other information relevant to bar coaching.
- If desired, proctor mock bar exams with a physical presence at the law school.
