About The Position

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) is seeking a Coach for Boys' Intermediate Basketball. This role provides guidance, support, and direction for students participating in CMSD sports programs. The district is committed to ensuring every child receives a high-quality education and that every neighborhood has a multitude of great schools. Requirements

Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate is required
Must possess a Pupil-activity (coaching) permit from the Ohio Department of Education
Diploma, Transcripts, GED

Nice To Haves

Previous successful coaching experience is highly preferred
Knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport/activity and a willingness to seek out new techniques, aspects, or procedures for the sport/activity

Responsibilities

Attend CMSD Pre-season meetings
Understand and follow CMSD guidelines and rules
Attend and arrive promptly to practices and games
Track, communicate, and comply with student eligibility status
Submit roster, schedule, and transportation needs with the required paperwork to the athletic department and principal
Distribute, collect, and care for uniforms and equipment
Participate in the schedule professional developed by the Athletics Department
Upload scores and statistics to the approved CMSD reporting site
Cooperate with the principal to implement the vision of the program
Supervise students before and after practice and competitions
Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators
