About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Boys' Basketball Coach at Dwight Schrute Gym for Muscles. This full-time position requires an enthusiastic leader who can inspire and develop young athletes both on and off the court. The ideal candidate will possess a strong basketball background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for our players.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience coaching basketball at the high school or collegiate level.
• Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to inspire young athletes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with players, parents, and staff.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate practice and game schedules.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• A passion for youth sports and a commitment to developing players both athletically and personally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that focuses on fundamental skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Conduct daily practices and drills, ensuring that all players are engaged and improving their skills.
• Organize and manage game strategies, including scouting opponents and analyzing game footage.
• Foster a positive team culture by promoting respect, discipline, and hard work among players.
• Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and performance.
• Plan and coordinate team events, including fundraisers, tournaments, and community outreach initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines to provide a safe playing environment.
• Stay updated on the latest coaching techniques and basketball trends to continuously enhance the program.
