About The Position

KPMG in Canada is seeking undergraduate Business or Accounting students to join their GTA office as a Winter 2027 Co-op Student in the Private Enterprise Core Services Practice. The Private Enterprise Core Services Team focuses on supporting entrepreneurs, family businesses, privately-held companies, and high net worth individuals and families. They provide assurance, accounting, and tax services, and collaborate with other firm members to offer a wide range of services. This role offers diverse experience within the practice, emphasizing areas that align with the student's background, experience, and interests. The intern and co-op program is designed to develop future leaders through challenging work, authentic client project experience, and extensive learning and development opportunities. The national Power Up programming provides further opportunities to learn from leaders, network with other students, and collaborate with professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support senior staff in completing compilation and review engagements
  • Identifying and resolving accounting and tax issues
  • Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
  • Preparation of Trust Tax returns, Partnership returns, payroll and investment information returns, etc.
  • Developing strong technical accounting and tax skills
  • Taking primary responsibility and ownership of files by independently managing workflow and presenting completed work product to managers and/or partners on a timely basis
  • Other special projects as assigned
