About The Position

KPMG in Canada is seeking undergraduate Business or Accounting students to join their GTA office as a Summer 2027 Intern in the Private Enterprise Core Services Practice. This practice focuses on supporting entrepreneurs, family businesses, privately-held companies, and high net worth individuals and families. The role offers a variety of experiences in accounting, tax services, and other client-focused services, emphasizing areas that align with the intern's background and interests. The program aims to develop future leaders through challenging work, authentic client engagement, and extensive learning and development opportunities, including national Power Up programming for networking and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support senior staff in completing compilation and review engagements
  • Identifying and resolving accounting and tax issues
  • Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
  • Preparation of Trust Tax returns, Partnership returns, payroll and investment information returns, etc.
  • Developing strong technical accounting and tax skills
  • Taking primary responsibility and ownership of files by independently managing workflow and presenting completed work product to managers and/or partners on a timely basis
  • Other special projects as assigned
