About The Position

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Validation Engineering Intern for its Mix-Signal and Linear Division (MSLD). As a High School Summer Intern, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to verify and validate the performance of linear and mixed-signal semiconductor devices. This role involves hands-on lab work, data analysis, and collaborative test development to ensure products meet design specifications and functional requirements. You will also assist in developing and testing schematic and PCB designs, utilize lab equipment for testing and troubleshooting, and collect/evaluate data for project development. Depending on skill level, there may be opportunities for low-level programming tasks such as developing device APIs and equipment drivers. Additionally, you will perform soldering for board assembly/rework, document findings, provide feedback, and participate in team meetings and project discussions.

Requirements

  • Must provide their own transportation (i.e., over 16 years old).
  • Mandatory in-office days: Monday & Tuesday.
  • Can work an additional days for a maximum of 32 hours per week.
  • Available for the duration of the HS Intern program: 6/2/2025 - 7/2/2025.
  • Must be a high school student within CUSD with a strong academic record.
  • Demonstrated interest in electronics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of electronic components and circuitry.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions for lab equipment use.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • This position is not eligible for Microchip immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and testing of schematic and PCB designs.
