CNN Editorial and Newsgathering Internships: ATL - Fall 2026
About The Position
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is offering multiple CNN Digital Editorial internship opportunities for the Fall 2026 semester in the ATL area. By applying to this posting, candidates will be considered for various internship roles within this general area. The selected interns will be expected to work in the office on a regular cadence, as determined by their intern manager's schedule. Example internship opportunities include CNN Content Management Intern, CNN Digital Features Intern, CNN Editorial Operations Intern, and CNN Newsource Operations Intern. This is a paid internship opportunity designed to provide real-world experience in the news industry.
Requirements

- Have keen understanding of how to spot and tell a great story
- An interest in writing for business, consumer, ecommerce, product reviews, lifestyle, science, or travel features
- Experience reading, evaluating and reporting on studies and data
- Basic understanding of cross-platform storytelling
- Experience working in a digital newsroom
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
- Must be a rising Junior or Senior (18 years or older)
- Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA)
- Candidates must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and will not require work visa sponsorship.
- Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program.

Responsibilities
- Reporting and writing multiple news stories every week on deadlines and receiving a byline for those stories
- Research developing and breaking news stories
- Fact-check
- Log tapes
- Conduct interviews
- Pitch story ideas
- Write brief news copy
- Contributing to and writing original stories for CNN Digital
- Independent research on topics/designated areas of interest for growth and audience engagement as directed by relevant members of the team
