About The Position

The CNC Turning Operator produces precision aerospace components by operating CNC turning machines within the Electro-Methods Lean manufacturing flow line. Operators perform value-added machining operations while following standardized work instructions and ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and aerospace quality standards. Working within a Lean production environment, CNC Turning Operators help maintain continuous production flow by monitoring machining processes, identifying abnormalities, and preventing defects from moving downstream. This role supports the creation, maintenance, training, coaching, and improvement of standard work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of CNC turning experience.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measurement tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace machining experience.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc CNC controls.
  • Experience with multi-axis turning equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and turning centers.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
  • Monitor machining operations and adjust offsets as required.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools.
  • Document production activity in accordance with AS9100 requirements.
  • Identify machine or process abnormalities and escalate as needed.
  • Maintain organized and clean work areas in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Operate other equipment in the cell as necessary to keep product flowing at takt.
