About The Position

Pinewood Tool is hiring a CNC Toolmaker to produce precision tooling and components, taking work from print through finished part. The role includes programming at the control and in Mastercam, setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, machining a range of materials, and owning inspection and quality. Work includes one-offs, prototypes, and short runs for automotive, medical device, aerospace, industrial automation, and engineered-products applications, with tolerances as tight as .0001 inches. Pinewood Tool is a precision toolroom in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, with a history dating to 1974. Its shop includes CNC milling, turning, grinding, and EDM, programmed in Mastercam and at the control. The position offers flexible hours and a path to grow toward Senior CNC Toolmaker.

Requirements

At least 3 years of CNC toolroom or short-run machining experience, or completion of a toolmaker or machinist apprenticeship.
Experience programming at the control on mills and/or lathes.
Strong blueprint-reading and GD&T skills.
Experience holding tight tolerances on small-batch work.
Desire to learn and pride in craftsmanship.

Mastercam experience.

Responsibilities

Take precision tooling and components from print to finished part.
Program at the machine control and in Mastercam, and set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.
Machine hardened tool steel, stainless steel, specialty alloys, aluminum, and engineered plastics.
Hold tight tolerances and manage quality from the first cut through the finished part.
Develop skills in programming, machining, and complex setups.
Suggest and contribute ideas for improved methods, tooling, and technology.
