CNC Team Lead- 2nd shift
About The Position
This position is responsible for verifying operator checks, assisting with changeovers and tool changes, and supporting operators to meet customer needs. This may involve operating any equipment in the department, including Material Handling and/or Shipping. The role requires the ability to replace lathe tooling and components, confirm geometry accuracy, and monitor part quality to ensure specifications are met. The CNC Team Lead will troubleshoot machine operations, perform minor maintenance, and train employees. They will also assist supervision by collecting downtime information and creating work orders. The ability to read and explain work instructions is essential.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Blueprint reading skills
- Precision measuring skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment (calipers, snap gauges, height gauges, ring gauges, micrometers).
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Demonstrates dependability and adherence to all safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities
- Verify operator checks.
- Assist with changeovers and tool changes.
- Support operators to meet customer needs, including running equipment.
- Replace lathe tooling and components and confirm geometry accuracy.
- Monitor quality of all parts to ensure they meet specifications.
- Manage parts needing rework and disposition in quarantine.
- Troubleshoot machine operations to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Operate Okuma's and Mazaks lathes.
- Troubleshoot machine problems and collaborate with supervision and maintenance.
- Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling machines.
- Train employees in a production environment safely and efficiently.
- Fill in for Supervisor, collecting hourly downtime information, and making work orders.
- Read, follow, understand, and explain dedicated work instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
