About The Position

The CNC Swiss Machinist will be responsible for operating and setting up machines within the department, inspecting parts, and documenting inspection results. This role requires continuous monitoring of equipment and tooling, and notifying the department manager of any disruptions. The machinist will follow setup sheets, drawings, and programs, and assist with training new team members. Maintaining a clean work area and adhering to safety and quality procedures are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Strong CNC Swiss setup and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Excellent mechanical inspection skills
  • Ability to interpret complex blueprints with true position and profile callouts
  • Proven problem-solving skills with minimal support
  • A clean, efficient, and organized work style
  • Flexibility to adapt to lower volume production runs (25 to 50 pieces per order)
  • Required experience machining stainless steels including 17-4, 455, and 465
  • Proficient with one or more of the following CNC machines: EDM RAM, EDM Wire, Lathe, Mill, Mill-Turn, Swiss.
  • Experienced in use of caliper, micrometer, OC and height gage for dimensional inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical and trouble shooting ability.
  • Ability to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years related experience

Responsibilities

  • Operate and set-up machines within the department.
  • Inspect parts and document results of inspections on in process inspection plans.
  • Continuously monitor equipment and tooling. In the event of a breakdown or other event that would disrupt the process, notify department manager to resolve the problem.
  • Follow the instructions on the setup sheet, drawings and/or programs.
  • Assist with training of new team members and operators.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Adhere to company safety requirements.
  • Assure that assigned activities are performed in accordance with Seabrook Quality System procedures.
