About The Position

APX is an industry leader in metal manufacturing, including enclosures, custom fabrication, machining, and industrial coatings. The CNC Router Operator is integral to the manufacturing process and operates CNC routers to create precision components from various materials. The role requires blueprint-reading and mechanical knowledge to ensure high-quality output, as well as CNC programming and use of precision measuring instruments to maintain accuracy. Carpentry or woodworking experience may transfer well to the role. Effective communication and basic math skills are needed to collaborate with team members and follow quality-control standards.

Requirements

• Ability to read and analyze blueprints.
• Detail-oriented.
• Strong math and communication skills.
• Locking toolbox with essential hand tools to start.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CNC milling is preferred.
• Carpentry experience or familiarity with woodworking tools, materials, and techniques is strongly preferred.
• CNC programming and use of precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure CNC machines are fully set up to produce high-quality parts.
• Meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Provide management with feedback and updates on production metrics and goals.
• Diagnose tool wear patterns and determine their causes.
• Provide input into product optimization.
• Perform open-bench quality inspections.
• Consult with tooling and equipment vendors to find optimal solutions.
• Work on your feet for 8-hour shifts.
