About The Position

Carlton Staffing is hiring an experienced, hands-on CNC Programmer Machinist for a precision manufacturing environment in Northeast Houston, Texas. The role involves independently setting up, operating, programming, and troubleshooting CNC equipment, primarily HAAS lathes and milling machines. The position pays $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience, and is temp-to-hire. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of CNC machining experience.
• Strong background in machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read, edit, and write G-code.
• Experience with CNC turning and milling operations.
• Solid understanding of machining tools, materials, feeds, and speeds.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, GD&T, and tight tolerances.
• Skill using precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and independent problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with HAAS controls.
• Experience with Fanuc controls.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines, primarily HAAS equipment.
• Adjust programs and troubleshoot G-code as needed.
• Select tooling and determine machining settings to produce accurate results.
• Use detailed blueprints and engineering drawings to manufacture precision parts.
• Inspect finished components and verify measurements against specifications.
• Identify and resolve machining issues involving tooling, alignment, vibration, and quality.
• Recommend improvements to machining methods, production efficiency, and material usage.
• Assist with process development and support less-experienced machinists.
