About The Position

Apache Workforce is seeking experienced Plasma Cutting Operators (Messer / HGG) for a leading manufacturing facility in Houston. The ideal candidate will have fabrication experience and the ability to safely operate plasma cutting equipment, CNC machinery, and other manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of fabrication experience
Experience operating plasma cutters, laser cutters, lathes, milling machines, grinders, or similar manufacturing equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Basic computer skills for documentation and inventory management
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to troubleshoot machine and production issues

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

Operate plasma cutters, laser cutters, lathes, milling machines, grinders, saws, robotic welders, and CNC-controlled equipment
Load CNC programs and adjust machine settings including torch height, gas settings, speeds, and stops
Read blueprints, cut lists, and technical drawings accurately
Measure materials and monitor cut quality to ensure production standards are met
Perform basic nesting and understand beam geometry and structural shapes
Troubleshoot machine issues and cutting defects
Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently
Conduct routine machine maintenance and inspections
Maintain production records, inventory levels, and machine documentation
Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures
Maintain a clean and organized work area utilizing 5S principles
