Entry Level CNC Operator (1st & 2nd Shift)
About The Position
Schultes Precision Manufacturing is seeking an entry-level CNC Operator to work in its Buffalo Grove, Illinois location. The position provides on-the-job training alongside skilled machinists and is suited to someone interested in hands-on manufacturing and developing a career in machining. The operator works under supervision to help produce parts efficiently and safely, assisting with CNC machine setup, operation, and basic maintenance while following company standards and safety regulations. Advancement opportunities may include CNC Operator, CNC Setup Operator, or programmer.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is typically required.
- 0–2 years of experience for entry-level positions.
- Reliability, adaptability, a positive attitude, teamwork, work ethic, and motivation.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds and working around moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
Nice To Haves
- Technical certificate or diploma in CNC machining or a related field.
- Experience in manufacturing or machine operation.
Responsibilities
- Load raw materials into CNC machines and monitor the machining process.
- Inspect finished parts with measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify they meet specifications.
- Learn to assist with CNC machine setup, including tool changes and positioning workpieces.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, such as cleaning, lubrication, and replacing worn tools.
- Record production data, including parts produced and operational issues encountered.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines.
- Report machine malfunctions or quality issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
