About The Position

Westaff is hiring for multiple CNC Machinist and CNC Operator openings. This role involves preparing and operating CNC machines to perform various tasks such as drilling, grinding, and milling. The operator will interpret blueprints and drawings, translate instructions into machine commands, and ensure the machines produce outputs according to specifications. Responsibilities include loading raw materials, setting up and running first pieces, supervising machine operations, making adjustments, and inspecting finished products.

Requirements

Manufacturing Engineering degree or equivalent degree/experience
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience
Experience with PLCs, servo, and other motion controls, pneumatics, sensors, etc.
Knowledge of machine shop equipment and practice
Hands-on experience with assembly, debug, and troubleshooting
SPC experience and proficiency

Nice To Haves

Solid modeling/CAD/CAM experience a plus (SolidWorks, PartMaker, S Abile, etc.)
Actual machining experience a plus

Responsibilities

Prepare and operate machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
Prepare and load raw materials onto the machines.
Set up and run first pieces to verify that the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
