About The Position

Steel Tool & Engineering is seeking a CNC Operator to join their team in Michigan. This full-time position offers a pay rate of $18.25 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience. The role involves operating CNC machines to manufacture aerospace components, contributing to advancements in flight technology. • Ability to make your own tools (example: chuck jaws or fixtures), specific to your jobs
• Ability to form cooperative relations with your supervisor
• Ability to consistently work to tight tolerances
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to meet productivity requirements
• Ability to set up and run horizontal and/or VTL lathes, programming is a plus!

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CNC machines to manufacture components that meet exacting standards.
• Configure machines, load materials, modify G-code, and make programming adjustments to maximize efficiency.
• Perform precision inspections with micrometers and calipers.
• Troubleshoot equipment and carry out routine maintenance.
• Ensure operations run smoothly while meeting productivity requirements and producing aerospace-quality results.
• Communicate and counsel other operators in the department.
