About The Position

This is a temporary-to-hire position for a CNC Machinist in Houston, TX. Day and Night shifts are available, with pay starting at $20/hour depending on experience. The role involves reading blueprints and job orders to set up and operate CNC machines, ensuring products meet specifications. Responsibilities include inspecting workpieces, performing routine maintenance, and completing paperwork. Assistance to other operators may also be required.

Requirements

• 1-2 years CNC experience
• Basic math skills
• Must pass background and drug screen
• Must have steel toes, metatarsal guards, and safety glasses

Nice To Haves

• Ability to perform program editing (speed, feed tools, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience with Fanuc 18i control, Okuma, OSP, and Mazak

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprint or job order for product and job specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, number of parts to be run, tooling instructions or other written specifications.
• Sets up machine, observes operation, and inspects first run and sample work pieces to ensure machining conforms to specifications.
• Determines processing specifications such as materials, location of cutting lines, dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences.
• Examines finished work pieces and verifies conformance to quality standards.
• Mark identification material before or after processing, store material for additional processing, and/or shipping.
• Accurately completes work order paperwork/documentation.
• Performs routine and preventative machine maintenance and inspections as required.
• Assists other machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces.
