About The Position

Under the direction of the supervisor, this individual is responsible for the operation of a number of computerized, numerically controlled machines and related equipment to produce bearing components at optimum production and quality levels. Operations include but are not limited to turning, milling, deburring, buffing, tumbling, and heat treat strike. The employee will work from engineering prints, verbal instructions, and a CRT display. Responsibilities include replacing worn or broken inserts or tools, adjusting and/or correcting offsets to compensate for tool wear, and inspecting own work using a variety of precision measuring instruments. The operator is also responsible for maintaining equipment, keeping the work area and machine clean, segregating, identifying, and transporting parts, maintaining accurate production records and counts, performing unusual or experimental work, and performing any other reasonable duties as assigned. Basic computer skills are required for data collection.

  • Ability to operate computerized, numerically controlled machines and related equipment.
  • Ability to produce bearing components at optimum production and quality levels.
  • Ability to perform operations including turning, milling, deburring, buffing, tumbling, and heat treat strike.
  • Ability to replace worn or broken inserts or tools.
  • Ability to adjust and/or correct offsets to compensate for tool wear.
  • Ability to use and interpret a wide variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers, indicators, shadow gauges, air gages, talysurf, and optical comparator.
  • Ability to maintain equipment in good working order.
  • Ability to keep the work area and machine clean.
  • Ability to segregate, identify, and transport parts in the work area.
  • Ability to maintain accurate production records and counts.
  • Basic computer skills for data collection.

  • Maintain accurate production records and counts.
  • Perform unusual or experimental work.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Utilize basic computer skills for data collection.
