About The Position

We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Operator (CNC Machinist) for our Defense & Aerospace Machine Shop. This position is for the night shift and includes a 20% night shift differential pay. Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required. The role involves operating CNC machines, performing daily maintenance, in-process inspection, minor program adjustments, and tool replacement. You will also be responsible for proper handling, identification, and paperwork associated with parts to ensure traceability.

Requirements

  • Machine operation.
  • Part holding methods.
  • Machine maintenance requirements.
  • Reading and understanding B/P’s including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, abbreviations, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, and any other standard nomenclature per customer, government, or industry standards.
  • Use of basic inspection, measuring and test equipment to verify dimensions of product.
  • Basic knowledge of CNC code.
  • Installation and removal of perishable tooling.
  • Company specific handling requirements.
  • Company specific product identification requirements.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or trade school.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and Authorized to work in the US.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand majority of the shift.
  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week.
  • Sufficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good problem solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Mazak experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Loading material / parts into machine and running program.
  • Daily maintenance on machine (checking fluid levels, cleaning out chips, etc).
  • In-process inspection of parts.
  • Minor program changes, mainly tool offsets.
  • Replacement of worn or damaged tools (inserts, boring bars, end mills, drills, etc).
  • Sign-off of paperwork accompanying parts (MOT, Inspection Traveler).
  • Proper handling of parts.
  • Proper identification of parts / parts containers to maintain traceability to job number & split lot.
