About The Position

Timesavers LLC is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Maple Grove, Minnesota. This position is responsible for independently setting up and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-quality components for our industrial equipment. This position focuses on low-volume, custom machining of non-standard parts. The CNC Mill Machinist will produce a variety of non-standard parts on assigned CNC milling equipment, requiring frequent setups and changeovers rather than repetitive, high-volume production. The position requires the ability to independently perform complete setups, interpret engineering drawings, select tooling and workholding, establish offsets, adjust programs, and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications. This is not primarily a production CNC operator position. We are seeking a skilled CNC setup machinist who can work independently, adapt to changing parts and setups, troubleshoot machining challenges, make appropriate machining decisions, and consistently produce accurate, high-quality work.

Requirements

5+ years of CNC machining experience, including significant CNC milling experience.
Demonstrated ability to independently perform complete CNC mill setups from start to finish.
Experience machining low-volume, custom, prototype, or non-standard parts with frequent setups and changeovers.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
Working knowledge of GD&T, dimensional tolerances, and machining specifications.
Ability to select appropriate tooling and workholding and establish machine and tool offsets.
Ability to make CNC program edits and adjustments at the machine.
Proficiency with precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.
Strong mechanical aptitude and machining troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision while meeting quality and productivity expectations.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Nice To Haves

Technical diploma, certificate, or degree in Machine Tool Technology, CNC Machining, or a related field.
Experience machining components for industrial machinery, capital equipment, or custom manufacturing.
Experience producing one-off parts and small production runs.
Experience machining a variety of materials, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Experience working directly with Engineering to resolve print, tooling, machining, or manufacturability issues.

Responsibilities

Independently set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Perform complete machine setups, including selecting and installing tooling, fixtures, and workholding and establishing machine and tool offsets.
Machine low-volume, custom, and non-standard parts requiring frequent setups and changeovers.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
Determine appropriate machining sequences, tooling, feeds, speeds, and workholding methods.
Load, verify, and make CNC program edits or adjustments at the machine as needed to produce conforming parts.
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to verify dimensional accuracy and conformance to specifications.
Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and other inspection tools.
Troubleshoot tooling, setup, programming, surface-finish, and dimensional issues and make appropriate corrections.
Monitor tool condition and make necessary tooling changes and adjustments.
Maintain required dimensional tolerances and surface-finish specifications.
Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve machining, print, tooling, and manufacturability issues.
Identify opportunities to improve machining methods, reduce setup time, and increase efficiency.
Maintain machines, tooling, fixtures, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
Follow company safety procedures and established machine-shop practices.
Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
Perform other duties as assigned.
