About The Position

The focus of the CNC Machine Operator is to perform the basic set-up and operation of production runs as needed, general maintenance of their assigned machines and workspaces, creation of programs and fixturing as needed, and development of process documentation per company standards. All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 1-2 years of experience on-the-job
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools, and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of numbers and their operations.
  • Controlling operations of equipment or systems
  • Inspecting and evaluating the quality of products
  • Watching gauges, dials, and other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Using mathematics to solve problems.
  • Conducting tests to determine whether equipment is operating as expected.
  • Performing routine maintenance and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Ability to make precise adjustments quickly and repeatedly in moving controls of a machine.
  • Ability to read and understand information.
  • Ability to correctly follow rules to arrange things in a certain order.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Adhere to all company policies.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Overhead crane certified.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to write and understand Hurco conversational programing.
  • Ability to write and understand G-code programming.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ability to read drawings and inspect parts with specified measuring devices.
  • Load/unload parts in provided work holding method per setup.
  • Able to perform basic set-up functions, maintain tooling and perform offsets to maintain part quality.
  • Program equipment to perform production tasks.
  • Determine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into the desired shapes.
  • Monitor fluid levels of machine, and report any maintenance needed to supervisor.
  • Inspects first-run work pieces and verifies conformance to specifications to check accuracy of machine setup.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Revise programs to eliminate errors, and retest programs to check that problems have been solved.
  • Modify existing programs to enhance efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.
