About The Position

The CNC Maintenance Technician supports CNC Manufacturing by performing scheduled and unscheduled repairs and maintenance, providing technical support with machine problems, and works with production to help troubleshoot equipment failures. This role involves advanced knowledge in CNC machines and automation, working with technical documentation, and maintaining CNC machines according to engineering drawings. The technician will also dialogue with external vendors to ensure component availability and participate in Continuous Improvement projects. Additionally, the role includes managing portions of the hazardous waste program, completing related paperwork, and assisting with hazardous waste transport companies.

Requirements

  • GED, or equivalent education required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of mechanical machine components.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical machine components.
  • Knowledge of Machine M- and G-codes.
  • Understanding of the mechanical and electrical function of CNC machines.
  • Trained in machine repair (classroom or on-the-job).
  • Technical skill to assess and respond to chemical incidents.
  • Ability to understand and comply with hazardous waste regulations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment demanding high precision and high-volume repeatability at tight tolerances.
  • Professional work experience performing machine repairs, troubleshooting, and PM.
  • Knowledge of standard measuring equipment of an advanced nature.

  • Similar role within a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and unscheduled repairs on CNC manufacturing machines, including electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Conduct machinery rebuilds, reconditioning, and modifications of an advanced nature.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot equipment failures with production.
  • Work with rough drawings, schematic layouts, technical manuals, and general descriptions of desired outcomes.
  • Maintain CNC machines according to engineering drawings, understanding dimensions related to repeatability, equipment capabilities, tooling, and scaled-up production.
  • Dialogue with external vendors to ensure necessary components and equipment are available.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects and collaborate with other departments.
  • Manage portions of the hazardous waste program, including paperwork and processing with the EHS Manager.
  • Assist with hazardous waste transport companies during site visits.
  • Assess and respond to chemical incidents.
  • Understand and comply with hazardous waste regulations.
  • Transport Hazardous Materials based on DOT Regulations.
  • Perform Hazardous Waste Collection and Removal according to Nobel Biocare SOP.
