About The Position

HII – Mission Technologies is hiring an exceptional CNC machinist to join our rapid expanding, strategic and diverse team! The Panama City Beach site is a state-of-the-art facility outfitted with multiple machining centers, CNC Lathes and a true 5 Axis Dual column Bridge Mill, temperature controlled, brightly lit and has a clean environment. Using Mastercam 2023 CAD/CAM software to utilize with our CNC Mills Lathes and 5 axis capabilities, we will be making a remarkable range of highly precise machined parts. This new team member will help us work on a variety of exciting, unmanned contracts, assist in the development of work processes and manufacture tight GD&T dimensioned product. The ideal candidate will possess skillful problem-solving, immeasurable attention to detail and pronounced communication skills. 5th axis milling experience is required and HAAS and Fanuc controller experience is preferred.

Requirements

  • 5 years of related experience with High School diploma/GED and/or certification in assigned area preferred.
  • Must be able to work second shift.
  • 5th axis milling experience
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret level government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FANUC 31i and HAAS controllers.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM programming (Mastercam 2023).
  • Experience machining titanium.
  • Experience machining with tight GD&T constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinists hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required.
  • May modify numerically controlled programs on numerically controlled (NC) machines.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
